This very rare track is Tina covering one of her favorite Motels songs. "Total Control" would have originally been on the "Rock 'n Roll Widow" LP (which became 'Private Dancer') back in 1983/84. She recorded two Motels' songs for this project, this tune and "When I Was Young." But, after the album's recording began receiving buzz in London, Tina began getting original songs submitted to record for her comeback work, and Total Control was kicked off the project.
However, if did finally get a proper release when Roger Davies (Tina's manager) negotiated a deal with Quincy Jones to include this song as an album track on the "We Are The World" album in 1985 as a 'previously unreleased' bonus song. Since then, it's been lost to old vinyl history.
