When you become famous from appearing on a well-liked series like The Beverly Hillbillies, many possibilities tend to follow.
When Donna Douglas was given the opportunity of a lifetime to play a part in a movie starring the iconic singer Elvis Presley, she seized it.
She began her career by entering beauty contests and landing small roles in films like "Career" and Li'l Abner. Paul Henning, the creator of the Beverly Hillbillies, asked Douglas if she might play Elly May in an interview with Valley Times in 1965.
