First recorded as a demo in George’s home in May 1968, “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” was brought to Abbey Road, Studio 2 on 25 July 1968 for ‘The White Album’ sessions.

On 5 September 1968, Eric Clapton joined on guitar for takes 17 to 45—the only time a guest guitarist played on a Beatles studio track. Take 25 became the final master.
