The Day the Diamond Flew Without Wings. Sir Paul McCartney and his fiance, Heather Mills were staying in a Miami hotel when a noisy argument broke out and it’s reported that witness seen the ring flying out a window from above them and McCartney shouting that the wedding is off. The couple quickly made up and a search for ring was launched. With the use of metal detectors and the ring was found and the two wed four day later in Ireland.
