In this weeks episode of Your Elvis Guide we are revisiting the spectacular concert Elvis Presley performed on March 25, 1961 in the Bloch Arena in Honolulu, Hawaii.

After Elvis Presley left the army in 1960 he did only perform 3 more live shows (all in 1961) before he returned to performing stage shows again in 1969.
Unfortunately only from the benefit concert on March 25, 1961 the audio survived.

Days before Elvis started filming Blue Hawaii he performed a sensational concert in the Bloch Arena in Honolulu.
The concert was a fundraiser for the USS Arizona memorial to be raised to honour the casualties killed by the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in World War II.

Elvis was in the shape of his life, back in 1961.
In 1960 Elvis Presley had made his first comeback. After 2 years of duty in the US Army Private Presley returned to the recording studios to record the Elvis Is Back! album and several singles and with 4 consecutive Number One hit singles Elvis in 1961 was 'Talk Of The Town Again'. The hitsingle It's Now Or Never even outsold his 1956 smash hit Hound Dog/ Don't Be Cruel.
The 1961 Hawaii concert is a spectacular eye witness account of a concert that could easily be the Greatest Rock & Roll Show Ever Performed.
