This was the title track from English singer-songwriter and musician Paul McCartney's 1983 album, which featured backing vocals by the Pestalozzi Children's Choir. "Pipes of Peace" became a #1 song on the UK Pop chart, and was also a #1 hit in Ireland. In the USA, the song was relegated to B-side status, while its actual B-side, "So Bad" was promoted as the A-side instead; this track went to #23 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart.
