In 2001, Paul McCartney visited George Harrison in a New York hospital for what they both knew might be their last meeting. They didn’t talk about fame or money, just old bus rides, bad early gigs and the first time they heard themselves on the radio. A small guitar in the room turned their goodbye into one last quiet duet. As Paul left, George squeezed his hand and said, “I’ll see you around, mate”. Sometimes the deepest goodbyes sound like a promise to meet again.
