A 2018 45 rpm pressing of Elvis Presley's original acetate recording issued as a box set of Sun records by Barnes and Noble. Prior to this transfer, this 45 rpm issue had never been played.
Elvis recorded the original acetate pressing on July 18, 1953 when he was only 18. When asked about the recording he always stated he had given the record to his childhood friend Ed Leek, although Ed later claimed that he did not have the record. In 1985, Elvis' former wife Priscilla discovered the recording packed in a box in a closet at Graceland. She took the record to RCA Victor in Nashville who did a transfer of the recording of My Happiness. Due to the condition of the flip side, 'That's When Your Heartaches Begin', it was not issued. 'My Happiness' first appeared in a CD compilation 'Elvis ~ The Great Performances' issued by BMG/RCA in 1990. In 2015, the original acetate recording went up for auction and was purchased by Jack White for $300,000.
Transferred using a Pickering AT-1 magnetic cartridge equipped with a 1 mil stylus
Whatever pops and clicks that were still remaining from the original acetate pressing were removed using 'Click Repair'
