“Jolene” was written by beautiful, down home, country superstar Dolly Parton and featured on the 1973 studio album of the same name. She an American singer, song writer, actress, musician and philanthropist who came from humble beginnings. I think that Dolly Parton is an interesting dichotomy in that she has given herself a ‘false’ exterior with the wigs, nails etc. , yet she is a wonderful, genuine, real, sincere person on the inside. There are so many great songs that she has written and recorded including "Coat Of Many Colors” , "I Will Always Love You", "You Come Again", "Islands In The Stream", and "9 To 5". The funny thing about the film "9 To 5" is that she had memorized the entire script thinking that she had to know all of it! I loved the appearances she made on "The Tonight Show" with Johnny Carson. She was such a great interview and always had something hilarious to say. Being an apparently shrewd business woman, she has a net worth of over 600 million USD and has come a long way from her humble beginnings!!
