On October 24, 1960, the Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) fraternity
from Arkansas State College (now Arkansas State University)
traveled to Memphis to formally induct Elvis Presley
into their organization as an honorary member at his Graceland mansion.
The fraternity presented him
with a "Man of the Year" award
and gave him a pledge pin during a secret ceremony.
