On August 15, 1977, Elvis Presley died of a heart attack at the age of 42. His daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, was only nine years old and was at Graceland that day. The night before, Elvis left her a voice message. It was recorded on August 14, 1977, at 11:47 p.m. His voice sounded tired and slow. A housekeeper saved the recording and later gave it to Lisa Marie. In a 2010 interview, Lisa Marie admitted that she never played the message for anyone – not for family, not for close friends. “The moment I share it, it stops being mine,” she said. When asked what her father said in the message, she replied: “That’s between us. Forever.” On January 12, 2023, Lisa Marie Presley died at the age of 54 – also from a heart attack. She was buried with her phone. Sometimes, last words exist only for one person.
