In 1972, as Lisa Marie Presley’s fourth birthday approached, Elvis wanted to give her something more meaningful than toys or riches. He asked family friend Janelle McComb to write a poem called “The Priceless Gift.” When Elvis read it, tears stained the page as he signed it, not as a superstar, but simply as Daddy.
