Grew up not very far from Colter’s Bay
She was the pride and joy, all folks would say
He worked a mile from town, haulin’ coal til sun went down
Wished his heart could turn around from all the love he’d lost.

She was baptized by a mountain stream
A child of God Miss Billie May was deemed
But she had a few regrets, alcohol and cigarettes
Hidin all her secrets no matter what the cost.

Overdrive - Overdrive - Into the night - In overdrive

So don’t you know these two met up one day
A spin on vinyl and a twist of fate
A few tequila shots, a gun full racked and ready cocked
The blasts were heard , they didn’t stop…dust blowin as they drove.

She didn’t wear the veil she’d wanted to
No wedding rings, just simple “I LOVE YOU”
And like two worlds collide, voices rang and guns were fired
And off they drove into the night , just like they’d done before.

Overdrive - Overdrive - Touch the sky - they’re In overdrive

So what became of sweet Miss Billie May
And what became of all the plans they made
Some folks say late at night…far away…most out of sight
You can see the faintest light just driftin cross the plains.

And no one ever heard about that man
He disappeared that night, not seen again
And some folks say late at night…the moon is dark…the wind is right
You can hear the hollow cries of love both gained and lost.

Overdrive - Overdrive - Into the night - In overdrive
Overdrive - Overdrive - Touch the sky - They’re In overdrive
In overdrive… In overdrive… In overdrive
