Drive My Car Take 4 highlights Paul McCartney’s original guitar part from the basic track, including the solo. A new guitar solo/intro was later overdubbed by Paul, leaving this earlier part buried in the background of the final recording, effectively acting as a “ghost” beneath the finished mix (much like what happened with Can’t Buy Me Love).

Please excuse the audio quality: the guitar was extracted from the vocal track playback, which is why it sounds rough and partially buried. Even so, it still gives a good idea of Paul’s original guitar part and how it sat within the basic track.
