Did you know Elvis Presley's backup band was called The Blue Moon Boys? Named after the Bill Monroe tune "Blue Moon of Kentucky." It consisted of guitarist Scotty Moore and bassist Bill Black, and a little later in their careers, drummer DJ Fontana joined in. They played with him on his early hits, through his movie career, and even backed him up on his comeback special.
