December 1973. During a marathon session in the Memphis' Stax studio's Elvis Presley recorded 3 full albums. Some were mediocre, other on par and quite a few are considered to be highlights in his 70s catalogue.
The recording sessions inspired Elvis. He took a handful of the songs recorded in December to stage. On August 19, 1974 Elvis rebuild his complete stage show. No more 2001 Space Odessy or See See Rider routine. He tried a completely new setlist.
From December he took Promised Land, It's Midnight and Good Time Charlie's Got The Blues.
In Good Time Charlie's Got The Blues Elvis offered us an rare and very revealing insight in his state of mind.
A year later, on August 18 1975, another December recoding premieres on the Las Vegas stage: My Boy.
