Somebody, with beans to count, suggested memory cafes are unlikely to have any benefits for people living with dementia. Ask the carers that or the family members singing along with their loved ones but watch this video first..

Sure, they are no miracle cure and they probably won't slow dementia's advance one jot. What they definitely provide is a fun environment for people living with dementia, respite for an all too brief period for carers and family and occasionally, just occasionally we make a breakthrough and get a smile where there has been none for weeks or a song or a memory recounted and that makes it worth it!
