In 1985 the release of "We Are the World" by USA for Africa sent a wave of optimism around the globe as Michael Jackson, Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder, Tina Turner, Bruce Springsteen and many other leading artists gathered in one studio to create a song. In 2010 a new generation of stars including Jennifer Hudson, Pink, Celine Dion, Snoop Dogg, Janet Jackson and more than eighty performers joined forces to record We Are the World 25 for Haiti, merging iconic voices with fresh talent to turn tragedy into collective action. Together these two versions show that when voices rise as one, hope can be rebuilt.
