“One of the great things, and one of the wonderful things about The Beatles... they were the first I ever recall White artists to come out and say that they were influenced by Black music and how much they loved Motown... That was so wonderful to hear them come out and say something like that, and giving Black music that kind of a boost to the fans of theirs, who were not aware of that, because we were all Beatles fans, of course, who wasn't.
