What a fabulous show with lots of L-O-V-E. Details on how you can still see it follow below. When Loverboy graced The Forum stage on Saturday, Feb. 20 for the iHeart80s Party, I reminded them they were “Working on the Weekend.”

So were Tears for Fears, Billy Idol, Culture Club, Missing Persons and Rick Springfield: Follow the previous links to see my video interviews.

Fans loved Loverboy’s setlist, too, and here it is: “The Kid Is Hot Tonite”—That’s how they spell it, yes—“Lovin’ Every Minute of It,” “Hot Girls in Love,” “Turn Me Loose,” and their anthem—and the anthem of millions of us, “Working for the Weekend.”

Catch Their Tour

I had to ask about the difference between audiences here and in Canada, so watch what they say. The band’s roster is lead vocalist Mike Reno and guitarist/vocalist Paul Dean, who met in Calgary in 1979. Other original members are Doug Johnson on keyboards and Matt Frenette drumming away, while Ken “Spider” Sinneave masterfully plays bass after the band sadly lost Scott Smith in 2000.

A mainstay of classic rock and classic hits radio, the guys still love to tour, and here’s the list of where and when as it stands now so you can see them. They’re a testimony to the power of sticking with it, having been rejected by a list of American record companies before Columbia signed them in 1980. And look how they've stuck with a fabulously successful career.

Watch the Show

Hope you enjoy this backstage chat with Loverboy. They share thoughts on their music in the now, and how they sustain their active touring schedule and much more. And about that offer to me in this video to sing backup: I’ve got a lot of work to do to get those vocal cords in shape. But I'm working on it.

If you weren’t at the iHeart80s Party in person, don’t miss the nationally televised special on the AT&T Audience network on DirectTV on Friday, March 18 at 9 p.m. PT.

iHeartRadio, iHeartMedia’s digital radio platform, is the No. 1 all-in-one digital audio service. Thanks, iHeart!
