Did Yoko Ono really withhold what John Lennon left Julian Lennon in his will?

According to Julian Lennon and numerous biographies, John Lennon had almost no contact with his father after John married Yoko Ono. In the early 1970s when John and Yoko were separated and John was living with a girlfriend, May Pang, May urged John to establish a relationship with his son and Julian was then allowed to visit his father regularly. During that time, John Lennon bought Julian a Gibson Les Paul guitar and a drum machine for Christmas 1973, encouraged his interest in music and showed him how to play chords.

About that time, Julian wrote: "Dad and I got on a great deal better then. We had a lot of fun, laughed a lot and had a great time in general when he was with May Pang. My memories of that time with Dad and May are very clear — they were the happiest time I can remember with them."

But John Lennon eventually got back together with Ono and once again Julian was basically cut out of his father's life.
