In 1993, the U.S. Postal Service released a commemorative stamp honoring Elvis Presley, which quickly became the best-selling stamp in U.S. history. Fans soon came up with a creative idea: they mailed letters bearing the Elvis stamp to nonexistent addresses. The letters would be returned to the sender with the postal mark "Return to Sender" - the title of Elvis’s 1962 hit song.
